  Most people to complete a skittles throw: Torquay company breaks Guinness world record

TORQUAY, UK -- The Shoot Out Club on Torquay's harbourside, who organise major events such as the Blackthorn British Skittles Championships, classic car events and skittles tournaments all over the UK, organised a world record attempt at the final day of this year's Devon County Show and thanks to 468 people who patiently queued to be part of the action, they set the new world record for the most people to complete a skittles throw in eight hours, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The Guinness World Records' record for the most people to complete a skittles throw in 8 hours is 468 in an event organised by Shoot Out Club Ltd & Rachel Bourke (both UK) at the Devon County Show, in Exeter, Devon, UK.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest skittles marathon (alley); it lasted 36 hours and was achieved by Andy Collins and Craig Carter (both UK) of the Allsports Skittles Team at Charlton Club in Cheltenham, UK.

  The attempt was staged at the final day of this year's Devon County Show and thanks to 468 people who patiently queued to be part of the action, the attempt has now been verified.

  To meet the exacting standards of the Guinness World Records, Shoot Out Club staff had to log full details of every participant and photograph them, plus use official stopwatches for timings.

  And in addition, the Shoot Out team raised £827.61 for Dream-a-Way, the south west based charity that provides holidays and outings for disabled and seriously ill people of all ages.

  The club also staged another record attempt on the second day of the show, involving the most skittles knocked down in eight hours.
