  Longest domino chain made of waffers: Vienna breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

VIENNA, Austria -- A group of domino enthusiasts lined up more than 8,500 packs of Mannerschnitten wafers in Vienna's City Hall and knocked them all down, setting the new world record for the Longest domino chain made of waffers, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

   The Guinness World Records' record for the longest domino wall was 30 m (98 ft 5 in) long and consisted of 31,405 dominoes.

   Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest human mattress dominoes; it was achieved by 850 participants (all USA), at an event organised by La Quinta Inns & Suites, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

   A group of domino enthusiasts has attempted to set a new world record by creating a chain of more than 8,500 packs of Mannerschnitten wafers in Vienna's City Hall.

    The team started at 6am, using half a tonne of the hazelnut-cream filled wafe rs.

   "It took precision, teamwork, and good nerves," Marcel Pürrer told the APA press agency. He was in charge of "the build" and has been a domino fan since he was a child.

   After the event the wafers were given as a thank you to the group and their helpers and to a children's charity.
