 Tallest cookie tower: Woodrush High School set world record

Wythall, UK--Pupils as well as staff from Woodrush High School in Wythall, Worcestershire, proved they were smart cookies after completing a 1.89m cookie tower using a total of 11,500 cookies, (all kindly donated by Tesco) - setting the new world record for the Tallest cookie tower , according to World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the tallest cookie tower measured 1.83 m (6 ft 1/8 in) tall and was constructed by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County (USA) at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York, USA .

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cookie mosaic measures 16.53 m² (177.9 ft²) and was achieved by Leclerc (Canada) in St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Québec, Canada.

  Woodrush teacher Sue Taylor said for the Redditch Advertiser: "We beat the current record by reaching 1.89m.

  "We started the tower at 8.30am and finished around 5.15pm using a total of 11,500 cookies, all kindly donated by Tesco."

  She added: "The aim was to get students excited about the maths, science and engineering principles behind the tower."
