  Most pizza boxes folded in a minute: Petr Bauer breaks Guinness World Records record

IRSCH, Germany -- Petr Bauer, 27, from Germany, took the world title for folding pizza boxes from Dominic Labarbe, 31, from Koblenz; he folded 13 boxes in one minute at the world pizza-box-folding championship, setting the new world record for Most pizza boxes folded in a minute, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people folding T-shirts simultaneously is 484 and was achieved at the CHSAA Student Leadership Conference (USA), in Golden, Colorado, USA, on 24 October 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most t-shirts folded in one minute; it is 23 and was achieved by Graeme J. Cruden (UK) at the TK Maxx store in Manchester, UK, on 3 March 2009.

    "It's great. I didn't expect it," the German with Russian roots said after his victory against some 20 competitors from seven nations on Saturday in the western village of Irsch on the river Saar.

    He took the world title from Dominic Labarbe, 31, from Koblenz, who has held it since the inaugural championship in 2013, DPA reportted.

    "It is a sport that is somewhat demanding," organizer Alexander Becker said. "Aside from physical fitness and digital dexterity, nerves are the deciding factor."

    Becker thought of the championship after watching how employees compete to be the fastest box-folders in pizza parlours.

  "There is always one who is the fastest," he said. The box-folding elite comes from Hungary, Austria, Italy, Iraq, Luxembourg and the United States in addition to Germany.
