  Most people making s'mores simultaneously: world record set in Whitehouse (VIDEO)

   WHITEHOUSE, OH, USA -- A total of 570 people participated at an event at Blue Creek Metropark in Whitehouse, setting the new world record for the most people making s'mores simultaneously , according to the World Record Academy .

Ruth Griffin, special events manager for Toledo Metroparks, said 589 people participated but 570 were certified as participating fully since some did things like dropping marshmallows. "Witnesses and stewards" made sure there were no s'mores cheaters or eaters, she said, The Blade reports.

    The current Guinness world record for the most people making s'mores simultaneously is 453, and was achieved by the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California in Rocklin, Calif, on Aug. 10, 2016.
