 Most Expensive Chocolate Egg: William Curley sets world record

LONDON, UK--The Golden Speckled Egg, an 110-pound chocolate egg made of Amadei chocolate from the Chuao region of Venezuela and filled with muscovado caramel, Japanese black vinegar, rosemary and olive oil, toasted sesame and juniper berry and cassis is accented with edible gold leaf, crafted by chocolatier William Curley and his team has sold for more than $10,000 to technology investor Cyrus Vandrevala - setting the new world record for the Most Expensive Chocolate Egg (non-jeweled), according to World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the tallest chocolate Easter egg measured 10.39 m (34 ft 1.05 in) in height and was made by Tosca (Italy).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest Easter egg hunt; it consisted of 501,000 eggs that were searched for by 9,753 children accompanied by their parents at the Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, Florida, USA .

  It took seven skilled chocolatiers at Curley's Twickenham production kitchen three days to handcraft the egg.

  The body of the egg is made of Amadei chocolate from the Chuao region of Venezuela, what many consider the best chocolate in the world.

  The Wotrld's Most Expensive Chocolate Egg is filled with Curley favorites that have all won gold awards from the Academy of Chocolate, including muscovado caramel, Japanese black vinegar, rosemary and olive oil, toasted sesame and juniper berry and cassis.

  The MOst Expensive Chocolate Egg in The World is accented with edible gold leaf. The egg was auctioned as part of the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, which is raising money for the charities Action for Children and Elephant Family.
