 Most Expensive Kebab: $1227 kebab sets world record (Video)

LONDON, UK -- UK chef and Food Network star Andy Bates, aka Pie Man, has created an $1227 kebab to promote his appearance on The Great Food Truck Challenge; all the kebab's ingredients are the most expensive in their category , setting the world record for the Most Expensive Kebab .

The Guinness world record for the most expensive omelette commercially available was set by the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata which costs $1,000 (£528.90) and is featured on the menu at Norma's restaurant, Le Parker Meridien Hotel, New York, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the most expensive pizza, commercially available is a $178 pizza sold to customers of Gordon Ramsey's Maze restaurant, London, UK.

  Andy said: "It took a fair bit of time to source the best possible ingredients to ensure that this kebab was the most exclusive one out there but I loved every minute."

  All the kebab's ingredients are the most expensive in their category: purple violet potatoes, coeur de boeuf tomatoes, milk-fed lamb.

  The kebab's most expensive element is legitimately delicious: a typical mint yogurt topping gets a bubbly blast from super-luxe Krug champagne.

  The pricey kebab is presented on a silver platter and was protected with a cloche prior to its first serving in Stockwell, south London.
