  Longest roll cake: Japanese students broke Guinness world record (VIDEO)

TOKYO, Japan -- Some 90 patissiers and students made a 130.68m long roll cake, using 54kgs of flour, 43kgs of sugar and 2,682 eggs, which sets the new world record for the Longest roll cake, beating the previous Guinness world record of 115.09 metres, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The previous Guinness world record for the longest roll cake measured 115.09 m (521 ft 11 in) and was made by Shotengai Shinkokumiai Takasaki Chubu Meitengai and Takasaki Chuoginza Shotengai Shinkokumiai (both Japan) in Takasaki, Gunma, Japan, on 19 November 2011.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest fruit cake; it weighed 3,825 kg (8,432 lb 10 oz) and was made by Just Bake (India). It was displayed at Food & Kitchen EXPO 2011, Tripua Vasini, Place Grounds, in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

A team of 90 patissiers and students completed the 130.68m roll cake at the catering college in Tokyo.

  The army of cooks used 54kg flour, 43kg sugar and 2,682 eggs in their record-breaking bake-off.

  The winning cake was decorated with 100kg of whipped cream, 10kg of sugar, 45g of gold powder and other ingredients.

  Guinness World Records confirmed the super long cake had beaten the previous record of 115.09m.
