BUFFALO, NY, USA -- John Benbenek
was eating
lunch at Taffy's Hot Dog Stand the other day when he grabbed
a 34-inch french fry from a pile of curly fries - which sets
the new world record for the Longest

Taffy's hand cuts its curly fries, and this
produces fries of considerable length, though most break apart
during or after frying, Eliah said.
Benbenek is storing the fry in his freezer,
but he hasn't insured the fried spud.
Benbenek and co-worker Ryan Vedder,
who was also at Taffy's, want to sell the fry on eBay. If
they sell it, Benbenek will get 70 percent of the price and
Vedder will get 30 percent, because it was Benbenek’s order
of fries.
“It’s crazy,” said Richard Eliah,
Taffy’s owner.
The previous Guinness World Record for the Longest
french fry
was a nearly 24-inch french fry from an Arby's in South Carolina.
