  Longest egg salad: world record set by the Farmers Association of India (VIDEO)

   KOCHI, India -- Hundreds of Home Science students joined hands with the Farmers Association of India and worked together at an event `Haritholsavam' at Kochi Marine Drive to enter the record books with the longest egg salad; the egg salad measured 814.58 feet long and over 7000 eggs with 197 kg of vegetables were used for the record feat, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest salad bar measures 209.742 m (688 ft 1.56 in) in length and was achieved by Jensen Jewelers (USA) at the Saladbowl Bash in Hudsonville, Michigan, USA, on 27 July 2013. The salad weighed 1,077.99 kg (2,376.56 lb) and contained lettuce, carrot, onion, radish, cabbage, zucchini, celery, cucumber and peppers as well as a selection of dressings.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest Caesar salad; it was prepared by Canirac, the Tijuana Restauranteurs Chamber of Commerce, weighed 3.287 tonnes (7,246 lb) and was unveiled in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on 20 October 2007.

    The World's Longest Egg Saladmeasured 814.58 feet long and over 7000 eggs with 197 kg of vegetables were used for the record feat.

    Various sauces spiced with pepper powder was used for the spicy egg line, The Mathrubhumi reports.

     140 Life Science students of St Teresa's College accompanied by 40 chefs of Egg Stop Restaurant, the world's largest omellete restaurant chain, and Eggs were involved in the preparation of the salad.

    Prof K V Thomas inaugurated the event. Councillor Gracy Babu Jacob, Ahmed Thottathil, Mary Jose, Farmers Asscoiation members attended the event.

     Previously, the world record for the longest egg salad standed at 625 feet which was prepared at Michigan in US.
