  Largest pork burger - Humboldt sets world record
  HUMBOLDT, Iowa, USA -- Sponsored by the Downtown Humboldt Enrichment Group event committee, a 240 pound, 42 inches across and 10 inches thick pork burger was cooked during the Downtown Humboldt Pork and Putt Classic , setting the world record for the Largest pork burger .

   Cook J.D. Myers says it took two days to prepare the Largest pork burger in the world , which was placed in a specially constructed pan and placed in a cooler at a local Hy-Vee grocery store overnight. The store also baked the bun for the World's Largest pork burger .

   The meat has all been donated and donations have come in from Miller's Landing, Fireside, Vinny's BBQ, Fareway and Hy-Vee. Joey Krug and Bob Krug donated the custom build aluminum pan.

    Gary Vinsand, owner of Vinny's BBQ in downtown Dakota City, has volunteered to cook the burger.

    Organizers says that a pork burger that weighed 127 pounds was cooked in Des Moines two years ago, but was never recognized by Guinness World Records.

   The Pork and Putt Classic, which also featured a two-man team miniature golf tournament, was organized by the Humboldt Downtown Enrichment Group as a way to bring the community together downtown.
