Polenta - world record set by Italian chefs
FELTRE, (BL) Italy -- Italian chefs served
up 2,600 lbs (1.194 kg) dish of polenta mash - setting the
new world record for the Largest
Polenta
.

Cooks in Feltre, Italy, potted the title
after taking an entire day to prepare and serve up the World's
Largest Polenta
made of ground cornmeal.
"It is a simple, peasant dish but
delicious," said one of the cooks.
Polenta is a dish made from boiled cornmeal.
The word "polenta" is borrowed into English from Italian.
The previous Guinness world
record for The Largest Polenta was set on Sunday, 2 August,
2009, in Tiarno di Sotto, a small village in a valley near
Trento, Italy, with a 2,269 lb (1,029.6 kg) polenta made of
potato.
