  Largest naan bread: Hampshire breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

Hampshire, UK -- A huge naan bread made by firefighters has been confirmed to be the biggest the world has ever seen; led by fire officer Dave Curry, the team created a giant Indian bread, weighing 26kg (57lb 5oz) and measuring 3.79m (12ft 5in) by 1.4m (4ft 7in); the cooking feat, carried out at the Eastleigh Mela in Hampshire, beats the 2008 Guinness World Records' record naan, which weighed 9.5kg (20lb 15oz),

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest naan bread weighs 26 kg (57 lb 5.12 oz) and was made by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, Badi Merchi and Sanjha's Restaurants (all UK) at the Eastleigh Mela in Eastleigh, Hampshire, UK, on 6 July 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most pieces of naan bread made in one hour by a team of five; it is 640 and was achieved by Indian Ocean Restaurant (UK) in Ashton-under-Lyne, UK, on 29 September 2009. The naan breads were made in traditional tandoor ovens.

    Led by fire officer Dave Curry, the team created a giant Indian bread, weighing 26kg (57lb 5oz) and measuring 3.79m (12ft 5in) by 1.4m (4ft 7in).

   The cooking feat, carried out at the Eastleigh Mela in Hampshire on 6 July, beats the 2008 Guinness World Records' record naan, which weighed 9.5kg (20lb 15oz). That creation was cooked by Loblaw Companies Limited in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and measured 2.89m (9ft 6in) by 1m (3ft 4in).

   It was created with the help of Badi Mirchi and Sanjha restaurants.
