 Largest Cheesecake: PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese broke Guinness world record (VIDEO)

Lowville, N.Y., USA -- PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS' record for the World's Largest Cheesecake; the cake was unveiled at the 9th Annual Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, N.Y., by event host Charm City Cakes (Baltimore, Md.) celebrity Chef Duff Goldman; the record-breaking cheesecake weighed in at 6,900 lbs. (3,129.787 kg), which is approximately 24,533 servings, setting the new world record for the Largest Cheesecake, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The previous Guinness World Records' record for the largest cheesecake weighed 2,133.5 kg (4,703 lbs) and was made by Philadelphia Kraft Foods Mexico , at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, in Mexico DF, Mexico, on 25 January 2009.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cake decoration lesson; it was achieved by 1,293 participants in an event organised by Casino de Charlevoix in Quebec, Canada, on 24 June 2009.

  The record-breaking cheesecake weighed in at 6,900 lbs. (3,129.787 kg), which is approximately 24,533 servings.

  The World's Largest cheesecake was created in a pan that measured 90.25 inches in diameter and was nearly 31 inches deep. The filling consisted of PHILADELPHIA cream cheese spread and sugar, while the crust was created from graham cracker crumbs and butter, topped with sugar decorations.

   The record-setting cheesecake was served to an estimated 10,000 cream cheese festival attendees and donated to the Lowville Food Pantry and The Watertown Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.

  Goldman unveiled the colossal cheesecake with the PHILADELPHIA team to help raise awareness for the No Kid Hungry campaign and its work to end childhood hunger in America, as well as opportunities for bakers to get involved by joining Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry(TM), a national fundraising initiative that encourages people to host bake sales in their communities to support the campaign's work to connect kids in need with food where the live, learn and play.

 "Working with PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese to create the World's Largest Cheesecake was thrilling, not only to set a new record, but also to support No Kid Hungry," said Goldman.
 "One in five children in America struggles with hunger, and I hope that today's events help bring more awareness to this ongoing problem."
