  Largest Cannolo: NYC bakery breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

NEW YORK, NY, USA -- Jaws dropped as New York City bakery Ferrara unveiled a giant cannoli at the San Gennaro festival; Ferrara's cannoli is 12 feet long, 350 pounds, and contains 50 pounds of chocolate chips, and setts the new world record for the Largest Cannolo (Cannoli), according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest cannolo weighed 55.79 kg (123 lb) and was made by Scott Wilkinson and Guilio Pistolesi (both USA) at the Cake Bin Bakery, Newburgh, New York, USA.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest strand of pasta measured 3,776 m (12,388 ft 5 in) and was achieved by LAWSON INC. (Japan) at Time 24 Building, Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo , Japan.

   The previous world record was set in Boston by a 7-foot-long cannoli, weighing 150 pounds including the filling.

Cannoli are Italian pastry desserts. The singular is cannolo (or in the Sicilian language cannolu, plural cannola), meaning "little tube", with the etymology stemming from the Latin "canna", or reed. Cannoli originated in Sicily and are a staple of Sicilian cuisine. They are also popular in Italian American cuisine. In Italy, they are commonly known as "cannoli siciliani", Sicilian cannoli.

   The crowd roared with joy as the chefs from Ferrara bakery filled this 12-foot-long cannoli with buckets and buckets of cream, The Epoch Tiimes reported.

  Ferrara bakery also gave out 5,000 of its famous mini cannolis to the public for free.
