 Largest bowl of porridge-world record set by Mornflake Oats

 SALFORD, UK -- Chef Colin Rostron cooked a massive 171.9kg bowl of porridge using Mornflake Superfast Oats -setting the new world record for the Largest bowl of porridge .

 Chef Colin Rostron broke the previous world record for the Largest bowl of porridge , which was set at 81.2kg in Edinburgh in 2007, by stirring 27kg of oats and 150 litres of water with a specially commissioned paddle over heat for just over an hour.

   And the Largest bowl of porridge did not go to waste as it was served to 100s of people in the theatre.

  The event celebrates the stage adaptation of the much-loved British comedy classic Porridge which begins its four-week stretch at The Lowry for a month from December 22.
