  Largest biscuit sticks mosaic: Ezaki Glico breaks Guinness world record

TOKYO, Japan -- The Japanese confectionary company known for the tasty little Pocky biscuit, Ezaki Glico, built a giant mosaic made from 1,307,208 milk chocolate and strawberry-flavored pink chocolate biscuit sticks inside of Tokyo's Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall, setting the new world record for the Largest biscuit sticks mosaic, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest wafer biscuit weighed 2.13 kg (4 lb 11 oz) and was made by Rolf Moen (Norway) in Austvatn, Norway.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest biscuit; it measured 754 m² (8,120 ft²) and was made by the Immaculate Baking Company (USA) in Flat Rock, North Carolina, USA.

  The world's largest biscuit sticks mosaic consisted of1,307,208 milk chocolate and strawberry-flavored pink chocolate biscuit sticks carefully laid out to display a devil-horned image of Pocky's spokesperson Kazunari Ninomiya.

  According to Guinness World Records, it took 48 hours with 240 people to create the candy coated biscuit mosaic, which was a feat considering one end of the biscuit is a cookie and the other end is a candy coating.

   Ninomiya is part of the Japanese boy band, Arashi and has been featured in commercials and advertising for the Pocky brand; including a very colorful video (see sidebar) which copies M.C. Hammer's "Can't Touch This", except it is Japanese.

  Pocky are sold in the United States, typically in Asian supermarkets and come a series of flavors which include; chocolate, strawberry and caramel-chocolate.
