  Largest Rocky Road: Darrell Lea breaks Guinness world record (VIDEO)

SYDNEY, Australia -- Measuring 5.5m long by 2m wide, the Rocky Road made by Darrell Lea chocolatiers for Australia Day used more than 85kg of milk chocolate, 80kg of "green and gold" marshmallows, 20kg of nuts (peanuts, macadamias and walnuts) and 8kg of cranberries; weighing in at 261.2kg, it sets the new world record for the Largest Rocky Road, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest slab of fudge weighed 2.61 tonnes (5,760 lb) and was made by Northwest Fudge Factory (Canada) in Levack, Ontario, Canada.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest chocolate fountain; it measures 8 m (26 ft 3 in) tall and circulates 2 tons (4,409 lb) of chocolate at a rate of 120 quarts per minute.

   Measuring 5.5m long by 2m wide, the record-breaking Rocky Road used more than 85kg of milk chocolate, 80kg of "green and gold" marshmallows, 20kg of nuts (peanuts, macadamias and walnuts) and 8kg of cranberries.

  The slab of Rocky Road will be chopped up, packaged and handed out to the public across Sydney.

  Commercial Marketing Manager Nicole Waters said Darrell Lea was ecstatic with the record-breaking outcome, which was inspired by Australians' overwhelming show of support last year when the brand almost disappeared for good.

 "What better way to celebrate Australia Day than for an Australian-made confectionary company to build a 200kg piece of Rocky Road and snare a Guinness World Records title," she said.
 "The chocolate was made from scratch with no oompa loompas required, just five chocolatiers working solidly for several hours and adding an Australia Day touch by using green and gold marshmallows.
