  Largest Jaffa Cake: world record set by Hambleton Bakery

   EXTON, UK -- A gigantic Jaffa was made for a BBC Radio 4 programme, The Philosopher's Arms by Frances Quinnalong with Hambleton Bakery; the monster creation set a new World Record, measuring a whopping 1.22 metres in diameter and weighing 61kg, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest crab cake is 136.08 kg (300 lb) and was created by Handy International Incorporated (USA) in Timonium, Maryland, USA, on 1 September 2012.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest truffle cake; it is 1,041 kg (2,295 lb) and was made by the Asociacion de pasteleros de Burgos to celebrate the centenary of CAJA CIRCULO in Plaza España, Burgos, Spain, on 19 March 2009.


    They smashed the previous Guinness world record for a 90cm Jaffa, held by catering staff at a college in Yorkshire, the Nottingham Post reports.

   The monster creation set a new World Record, measuring a whopping 1.22 metres in diameter and weighing 61kg.

   The gigantic Jaffa was made for a BBC Radio 4 programme, The Philosopher's Arms, which debates the tough question: cake or biscuit?
