  Biggest custard cream: Oswestry club breaks Guinness world record

Oswestry, UK -- The finished biscuit baked during the Rotary's Cafe holiday club run at the Whole Life Christian Centre in Cabin Lane measured 68cm (27ins) x 50cm (20ins) x 15cm (6ins) thick and weighed 16.3kg (2st 8lbs) – beating the previous Guinness World Records' record, held by a chef in Nottingham; it weighs a whopping 16.3kg (2st 8lbs) – the same as a three-year-old child, setting the new world record for the Biggest custard cream, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

 The Guinness World Records' record for the largest custard slice weighs 508.11 kg (1,120 lb 3 oz) and was made by Flinders Fish and Chips (Australia), in Flinders, Victoria, Australia.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest custard pie fight; it was one with 3,320 pies thrown by 2 teams of 10 in 3 minutes at the Bolton Arena, Bolton, UK.

  The massive treat – 216 times bigger than a normal-sized biscuit – beat the previous Guinness World Records' record which was set in 2010 by chef pals Simon Morgan and Paul Thacker in Nottingham.

  More than 55 children attending the Rotary's Café Holiday Club in Oswestry, Shrops., spent 72 hours building the huge biscuit before finally finishing it last Friday.

  The biscuit was broken up into smaller pieces at the event on Friday and sold to raise funds for the Derwen College in Gobowen.
