The Guinness World Records' record for the largest glass of beer contained 1,499 litres (329.74 gal, 396 US gal) of Guinness and was prepared at The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub in Tustin, California, USA, on 21 November 2009. The glass measured 2.42 m (7 ft 11 in) tall with a diameter of 1.1 m (3 ft 7 in) at its widest point.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest beer tasting; it involved 322 participants and was conducted by Warren McCoubrey at The Oast House (both UK) in Manchester, UK, on 7 August 2013.

Stodd Fold Brewing Company celebrated the Tour's arrival in Yorkshire by breaking the Guinness World Records' world record for the largest glass of beeer.

The company at Ogden, Halifax, will now enter the Book of Records after filling the glass with 3,664 pints of Stod Fold's Gold Ale- one pint for every kilometer of the world-famous race.

Johnny Naylor, the London partner of the brewery, said: "We've been working through the night to get it sorted.

"We wanted to do something different and it's a fantastic feeling."

Organisers had to climb up scaffolding to top the enormous vessel with the locally-brewed Stod Fold's Gold ale as thousands of spectators watched.
