  Largest fire engine built out of beer crates: Germany breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

BERLIN, Germany -- The men from the Feldhausen Volunteer Fire Service worked to put together their mammoth project using cherry picker cranes and good old-fashioned elbow grease during an attempt to break the Guinness World Records' record, by building a fire engine from nearly 4,740 beer crates; the 15m long fire engine stands at 5m tall,
setting the new world record for the Largest fire engine built out of beer crates, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest beer crate pyramid consisted of 105,995 beer crates and was made by Quandt-Schön Getränkefachhandelsgesellschaft mbH and Radio MV with the help of 60 volunteers in an event organised by Radio MV in Satow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, as ascertained on 5 June 2011. The bottom layer of the pyramid consisted of 85 x 85 crates, measured 33.8 m (110 ft 10 in) x 25.5 m (83 ft 8 in), and had a height of 12.9 m (42 ft 4 in).

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest beer tasting; it involved 714 people and was organized by Consejo Nacional de Cultura Gastronomica (Mexico) at Campo Marte, in Mexico City, Mexico, on 15 November 2014.

   Volunteer firefighters in a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia made an attempt to break the Guinness World Record, by building a fire engine from nearly 4,740 beer crates, local media reported.

    The feat was attempted using a cherry picker and cranes in the small town of North Rhine-Westphalia, as reported by The Local .

   Nearly 5,000 beer crates were used to build the 15m long fire engine which stands at 5m tall.

    Their artwork will stand in place until the fire department's jubilee party on the 10th and 11th of July.
