  Largest Cup of Lemonade: N.J. family breaks Guinness World Records record

LINDENWOLD, NJ, USA -- A southern New Jersey couple broke the Guinness World Records world record for serving more than 1,700 gallons of lemonade; Michael and Trish Adkins of Lily's Big Grand Lemonade Stand hosted an event to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation; the 10-foot-tall, 6-foot-wide plastic cup was filled with 1,735 gallons of lemonade, shattering the previous record of 1,539 gallons by nearly 200 gallons,
according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest cup/glass of soft drink contains 6,000 litres of mango juice (211,170.39 UK fl oz; 202,884.14 US fl oz) and was created by Kadi Mall (Saudi Arabia), in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, on 8 May 2015. The cup measured 2.16 m in Diameter and 1.64 m in height.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cup of hot chocolate; it contained 3,331.16 l (732.753 gal, 880 US gal) and was achieved by The Festival of Chocolate and the Museum of Science and Industry (USA) in Tampa, Florida, USA, on 21 January 2013.

    Michael and Trish Adkins of Lily's Big Grand Lemonade Stand hosted an event Saturday to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for childhood cancer research and awareness.

   The 10-foot-tall, 6-foot-wide plastic cup was filled with 1,735 gallons of lemonade, shattering the previous record of 1,539 gallons by nearly 200 gallons, CBS Philly reported.

Lemonade Stand Foundation is a nonprofit that raises funds for childhood cancer research and awareness.

    Eight years ago, when their daughter Lily was just 14 months old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor called ependymoma. After treatment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a cancer center in Houston, Texas, Lily survived her cancer.    Since then, the Adkins family has hosted an Alex's Lemonade Stand every year.
