MONTESANO, WA, USA -- GrinOn Industries has developed a technology that fills beer cups from the bottom , named " Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System, " which fills at a rate of up to nine times that of traditional beer taps; they used it to fill 56 beers in just one minute -

The Guinness world record for the tallest tabletop beer dispenser/towermeasures 3 m (9 ft 11 in) in height. The tower was made by the Swiss brewery Valaisanne, which is owned by Feldschlösschen Beverages Ltd. and displayed in Sion, Switzerland.

Guinness World Records also recognized the largest beer tankard: it measures 5.87 m (19 ft 3 in) tall, has a diameter of 2.03 m (6 ft 7 in) and can hold 12,910 litres (2839.8 gal) of beer. It was created by the Meraner Altstadtvereinigung (Italy).

The system uses special cups that have a hole at the bottom covered by a magnet. Pressure from the beer dispenser pushes the magnet up and allows the cup to fill. Once full, the weight of the beer pushes the magnet back down and seals the cup.

Here are some of the benefits:
  # Reduces draft beer waste, saving money and time # Improves operational efficiency
  # Product consistency
  # Grow sales in good times, reduce labor costs and inventory in slow times
  # Reduces the stress and cost of "foamy beer problems" to management through GrinOn's rapid education system that conveys valuable steps for volunteer and service labor to take without calling management for solutions
  # Novelty that won't wear off
  # Dynamic sponsorship opportunities for dispensers and cups

One challenge facing the company is the special beer cups cost 45 cents, more than four times the amount of traditional cups.

However, SportsGrid notes that the company could offset some of that cost by attaching advertisements to the magnets which are used to seal the cups.
