  Largest private challenge coin collection: Coins for Anything breaks Guinness world record

Fredericksburg, VA, USA --Jeff Morin and his business partner, Chris Frederick, have designed 38,000 challenge coins for Morin's company, Coins for Anything ; they keep one of each for the private collection, which sets the world record for the Largest private challenge coin collection, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest collection of silver coins consists of 1,600 non-duplicate coins from around the world, and belongs to José Manuel Costa Lavín (Mexico).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest permanent coin mural ; it depicts the flag of the Republic of Korea, consists of 110,000 10 won coins, measures 24 m² (258.33 ft²) and was made by Jin Jeonggun (Republic of Korea) in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

  The Fredericksburg company now boasts four Inc. 5000 awards and the largest private collection of challenge coins in the world.

  Challenge coins are small medallions given and received for participation in groups or events, or to recognize achievements. They were primarily military related but now are minted for any organization or event.

  "Challenge coins are important and significant to military people," said Morin, CEO of the company. "A service member can tell you the story of their career based on the coins they've received," he said.
