Largest collection of fishing lures: Will "Spike" Yocum breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)
CARTERVILLE, IL, USA -- Fishing enthusiast Will "Spike" Yocum, 12, started collecting Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap fishing lures when he was four and has now amassed a collection larger than 3,500 -- thus setting the new world record for the Largest collection of fishing lures, according to the World Record Academy

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest fishing lure had a length of 4.74 m (15 ft 6.72 in), a width of 67.97 cm (2 ft 2.76 in), and a height of 48.77 cm (1 ft 7.2 in), and was created by Ethan Sparks (USA), in West, Texas, USA, on 8 August 2013.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people gutting fish simultaneously; it is 1,000 and was achieved by the people of Santoña, in Cantabria, Spain on 1 May 2011.
Fishing enthusiast Will "Spike" Yocumstarted collecting Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap fishing lures when he was four and has now amassed a collection larger than 3,500.
Yocum's grandfather, Fred Washburn, was a Grand Champion Fisherman in 1980 and helped Will start the collection, the WMC-TV
reports.
There is no former record holder for the number of Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap lures, but the last recorded figure for a collection of lures was less than a third the size of Will's.
