  Largest collection of cow-related items: Ruth Klossner breaks Guinness World Records' record

BERNADOTTE, MN, USA -- Ruth Kossner, who lives in Bernadotte, Minnesota, has been accumulating cows in her 1,700 square-foot home since 1978; at last count, she had 7,516 bovines of every description, including cookie jars, figurines, wood carvings, wall hangings, toys, games, clothes, books, candles, coffee mugs, pencils, ornaments, floor mats, salt and pepper shakers - setting the new world record for the largest collection of cow-related items, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the Largest collection of cow-related items was set by Denise Tubangui (USA), who has a collection of 2,429 cow-related items, as of March 2011, which she has collected since 1990. Denise started the collection in 1990 when she saw a cow figurine in her mother's kitchen.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cow bell ensemble; it involved 640 participants, in an event organised by Künstlerhaus Boswil (Switzerland) in Boswil, Switzwerland, on 6 September 2009.

   Klossner's love for the animal, and her collection, has spanned decades. Her love of bovines began when she was a young girl growing up on a dairy farm and participating in 4-H programs – one of her oldest cow-related items in her collection is a 4-H cow trophy she won in 1964 as a Nicollet County Holstein Girl, KARE 11 reported.

   he bought her first collectible at a house auction in October 1973, paying $8 for the cow and calf figurine, the St. Peter Herald reported. But she really got serious about collecting in 1979. Many of her cow items are gifts; the others were picked up at auctions and souvenir shops.

    The Moo-seum is home to more than 15,000 cow items*, likely the largest collection of cow memorabilia in the the world. All types of cow items are included in the collection—creamers, sugars, salt and peppers, cookie jars, figurines, wood carvings, wall hangings, toys, games, clothes, books, candles, Christmas ornaments, and much, much more.

   The Moo-seum is located at 34085 515th Avenue, rural Lafayette, in the village of Bernadotte.
