The Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as comic book characters involved 1,530 participants.

Guinness World Records also recognized the Largest collection of Conan the Barbarian memorabilia, owned by Robert and Patricia Leffler of the Richland Center, Wisconsin, USA, who have a collection of 4,670 items of Conan the Barbarian memorabilia
.

His 68,000 comic books are stored over two houses and is worth more than $1.3 million.

He has plans to build a room especially for his treasures with enough room for more; the room will fit 300,000 comics.
"Most of the comics are in mint condition and they will be behind glass, but people will be able to get within inches of them to have a look," he said.

Mr Chilman, or "The Comic Book Guy" as he is known by his overseas contacts, said he would often buy 1000 comics in one hit and while they are being shipped to his house would already be ordering several hundred more.

"I live and breathe comics," he said. "There are other collections that have more comic books but I am told I have the largest private collection," inMyCommunity quoted him.

"There is a library in America that has 250,000 comics but those are donated by the members of the public but that is business. I have bought all my comics with my own money and without help from anyone."

His children are also named after comic book characters: Tristen from Stardust, Logan from Wolverine and Isabelle from Beauty and the Beast.
