"The park is designed for up to 10,000 people at any one time," its general manager Claus Frimand told AFP.
"It's fantastic -- this is what we have been waiting for for years," he said, adding that "literally three years ago, there was nothing here, only sand."
Ferrari World
offers 20 attractions, including Formula Rossa, which simulates driving a Formula 1 car and at 240 kilometres (150 miles) an hour is the new fastest roller-coaster in the world
.
Built high above Abu Dhabi's Formula One track, the ride aims to accurately recreate the sensation of driving a Formula one car, with drops and turns that generate 1.7 G's, pinning people down into its 16 seats.

Using the same technology that propels fighter planes from warships, it accelerates into the burning desert from 0 to 100kph in two seconds flat; and takes less than 90 seconds to travel its full length of 1.28 miles.
The previous Guinness World Record holder for the Fastest roller-coaster
was Kingda Ka, a roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, USA; his train is launched by a hydraulic launch mechanism to 128 miles per hour (206 km/h) in 3.5 seconds.
Guinness World Records also recognized the steepest roller coaster made from steel - the "Mumbo Jumbo" at Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, in Malton (UK), measuring over 30 m (98 ft) tall, and able to impose just under 4 G of force on your body.
The new World's Largest Indoor Theme Park
is part of Abu Dhabi's multi-billion-dollar effort to develop Yas Island. The emirate also plans to open branches of the Louvre and Guggenheim museums on nearby Saadiyat Island.
Abu Dhabi, the largest and richest of the seven emirates making up the United Arab Emirates, has launched an ambitious development plan to 2030 to modernize and diversify its economy away from oil.
