  Largest Lego Santa Yoda: San Francisco sets world record (Video)

SAN FRANCISCO, USA -- Setting up shop inside the San Francisco's Union Square, a team of Lego Master Builders enlisted the help of thousands of San Franciscans and tourists to construct a 12-feet tall Lego Santa Yoda with an ear span of 10-feet, weighing nearly 4,000 pounds - which sets the world record for the Largest Lego Santa Yoda, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks (Lego) was 30.52 m (100 ft, 1 in) high and was constructed by the Stichting Limmen Ludiek (Netherlands) foundation on in Limmen, Netherlands.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest QR code: it measured 16.81 m² (180.94 ft²) and was achieved by Fiera Bolzano Spa (Italy), in Bolzano, Italy .

  The Yoda was there to serve two purposes: make another small contribution to erasing the memory of the "Star Wars Christmas Special" from our collective national consciousness and advertise LegoSantaYoda.com , a holiday website where people can create e-greeting cards to send to their friends and family.

  For each card sent out through the site, Lego will donate one new Lego toy to the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys For Tots program.
