Slowest Techno Track - world record set
by Scaramanga Silk
LONDON,
UK -- Creative Artist Scaramanga Silk
has set a new
world record for the Slowest
Techno Track
when his single 'Sacrifice' measured
91bpm.

The record was broken at Silk Studios.
The World's
Slowest Techno Track
was measured using a software
plug-in BPM (Beats Per Minute) counter.
The Slowest
Techno Track in The World
record was hosted by niche
electronic music website SlowTechno.com. Techno music normally
ranges between 130bpm - 160bpm.
Prior to this record, the slowest
known techno track
was by the French duo Daft Punk.
Their track 'Steam Machine' is 92bpm so Scaramanga Silk only
narrowly managed to pip them to the crown (by a single BPM).
The record was set by using specialist music
software to determine the BPM of the track. 'Sacrifice' was
played in Logic Pro from start to finish whilst a plug-in
BPM Counter monitored the BPM throughout. With no fluctuations
in the BPM, the record was set at an astonishingly slow 91bpm.
Such a BPM is more commonly associated with hip-hop and downtempo
music.
Scaramanga Silk was delighted with the
achievement stating 'The record was always in reach. Creating
such a track was a real challenge as it is not easy to produce
such slow techno music.'

Techno is known for its fast tempo
and futuristic visions but there are other sides to this influential
and vital genre. Certain producers have experimented with
the BPM (Beats Per Minute) rates to bring about deeper, funkier
and melodic techno at a slower pace.
