 Highest Concert: Oz Bayldon breaks world record (PICS & VIDEOS)

Mera Peak, Himalayas -- Music4Children led by South London based musician Oz Bayldon reached 6,654m on Himalayas and performed a 40 minute gig in the freezing temperatures
- setting the new world record for the Highest altitude concert on land / Highest Gig, while raising £35,000 to fund a Nepalese orphanage, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/. highest concert by Oz Bayldon in Himalayas

The Guinness world record for the highest concert ever staged on land was at 6,069 m (19,911 ft) by Musikkapelle Roggenzell - 10 musicians from Germany and Bolivia - on Mount Acotango, Bolivia.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Highest Concert (Aircraft), set by James Blunt (UK), who played a concert at 42,080 ft (12,825 m) to a ticketed audience of over 100 people.

  The record attempt was to raise money for the charity founded by Bayldon, Music4Children - which helps children around the world.

   They carried three guitars, an iPad and a small battery-powered speaker for the freezing 40-minute gig. They played to an exclusive audience of 14 – including other trekkers on the mountain – who each paid £10 for their 'ticket'.

  Mr Bayldon, who runs music venue The White Lion in Streatham, south London, admitted the trek was 'the hardest thing I'd ever done'. It also made him feel like 'a 90-year-old with asthma crawling up a steep hill'.
