  Longest tractor and trailer reverse: Eamonn Hickson breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

Annascaul, Ireland -- Kerry native Eamonn Hickson has set the World Record for ’Longest journey reversing a tractor and trailer’; he successfully completed his challenge, reversing from Dingle to Anascaul, a total of 17.5km, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

  The Guinness World Records' record for the largest parade of classic tractors consisted of 964 tractors, achieved by RFD-TV & Rural TV (both USA) at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island, Nebraska, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest parade of Steyr tractors, which featured 1,338 vehicles, and was achieved by Franz Fischinger (Austria), in Weissenkirchen, Austria.

The event was a part of Anascaul Beerfest, an annual charity fundraiser, with proceeds going toward Kerry Cancer Support.

  Eamonn said the idea came to him when working on a farm in New Zealand. While no one had ever attempted this record before, Guinness World Records set a minimum distance of 15km, the Irish Examiner reported.

   Despite a formidable combined length of 43ft, Eamonn said the reverse was easier than expected due to the great visibility in his Massey Ferguson 6490 and Scully Steel trailer.
