  First Hoverboard sets world record :bigger than a Guinness record? (VIDEO)

LOS GATOS, CA, USA -- A Silicon Valley startup named Arx Pax had invented the "world's first hoverboard," dubbed the "Hendo" - with the help of four hover engines located at the bottom of the board, the machine apparently works by producing a magnetic field over a conductive surface like aluminum or copper; the futuristic machine hovers about an inch above the ground and can travel at 15 mph setting the new world record for the World's First Real Hoverboard, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the First supercomputer was set by China's Tianhe-1, which works on aircraft design and petroleum exploration. US electrical engineer Seymour Cray founded Cray Research Inc in 1972 and, in 1976, the first Cray-1 supercomputer was installed at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA. The Cray-1 cost $8.8 million and, at 160 megaflops, it was the fastest computer at the time.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the first wristwatch; it was made for a woman, Countess Koscowicz of Hungary, by Swiss watch manufacturer Patek Philippe in 1868. Although it was the first timekeeping device to be designed specifically for use on the wrist, it was intended primarily as a piece of decorative jewellery.

    The World's First Real Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation - creating a magnetic field underneath the board which is repelled by a non-ferrous surface like copper or aluminium underneath - allowing the board to levitate.

   Its developers recently launched a Kickstarter campaign, where you can pre-order one of these high-tech boards for a cool $10,000.

   The founders of the Hendo hoverboard say while they wanted to create a buzz around their prototype the real goal is far more ambitious still: to isolate objects and even entire buildings from earthquakes and other ground shocks.
