  Longest single line of bicycles: Bosnia breaks Guinness World Records record

SARAJEVO, Bosnia -- Almost 1,000 cyclists from 20 countries broke the Guinness World Records record for the longest single line of bicycles (moving) in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo; with the support of the International Cycling Federation, the tour was held as a part of a project to promote cycling, called the Sarajevo Grand Prix,
according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the longest single line of bicycles (moving) consisted of 916 cyclists in an event organized by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge 169 (USA) in Davis, California, USA, on 3 October 2010.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most participants in a cycling event; it is 48,615 for Udine Pedala 2000 organised by Rolo Banca 1473 at Udine, Italy on 11 June 2000. The cyclists completed a circuit measuring 29.3 km (18.2 miles) around Udine.

     Almost 1,000 cyclists from 20 countries broke the Guinness World Records world record for the longest single line of bicycles in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo on Sunday.

    With the support of the International Cycling Federation, the tour was held as a part of a project to promote cycling, called the Sarajevo Grand Prix.

    The event was also held to raise public awareness about cyclists' rights in traffic.

    The original Guinness World Records world record was set in Oct. 2010. in Davis , California, U.S., with 916 cyclists.
