The previous Guinness world record for the largest Zumbatomic class was 383 students at once, set in Brownsville, Texas.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest Zumbatomic® class, which involved 1,121 participants and was achieved by Cheryl Lindsay and RED H.E.A.R.R.T.'S(Help Educate And Reduce Risk Today-USA) at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA.

Event coordinator Cheryl Lindsay said the event had three goals: break the world record for largest Zumbatomic class, start the Go Red and Get Moving campaign and teach kids about making healthy choices.

It's a lesson Lindsay said she hopes the students will adopt now and continue a lifetime, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

Zumbatomic is a form of Zumba aerobics for children under 15 years old.

Mayor Allen Joines joined the 1,121 students and their teachers for the 30-minute dance workout. As dance music blared, students followed choreographed routines performed by instructors on stage.
