 Fastest marathon while pushing a pram: Jessica Bruce breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

LONDON, UK -- Jessica Bruce, 32, Ph.D., completed the Abingdon Marathon with her seven-month-old son Daniel in a Bugaboo Runner pushchair in three hours, 17 minutes and 52 seconds, thus setting the new world record for the Fastest marathon while pushing a pram
, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records' record for the fastest time to run a marathon while pushing a pram is 2 hr 42 min 21 sec by Michael Wardian (USA) at the Frederick Marathon, Frederick, Maryland, USA, on 6 May 2007. His nine month old son, Pierce, was sat on the pram for the duration of the race. The Wardians finished 3rd overall in the race.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the fastest halfmarathon pushing a pram (male); it is 1 hour 13 min 50 sec and was achieved by Travis Boyd (USA) at the Heroes Half Marathon in Everett, Washington, USA, on 28 April 2013. Travis pushed his one-year-old daughter, Julia, in a pram around the entire half marathon course.

    The current Guinness World Records record holder for fastest marathon pushing a pram (female) was three hours, 31 minutes and 45 seconds.

    Jessica Bruce, from Headington, completed the Abingdon Marathon with her seven-month-old son Daniel in a pushchair in three hours, 17 minutes and 52 seconds.

    Her personal best in a marathon is two hours and 58 minutes and she kept running until she was seven months pregnant. Her buggy is lightweight and has in-built suspension.

    The Abingdon Marathon is in its 34th year and about 1,200 runners took part.
