  Most people in one pair of underpants: Warwick University breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

COVENTRY, UK -- Students at the University of Warwick sealed the World Record for the most people in a single pair of pants by cramming 314 people into an enormous pair of the undergarments y - beating the previous Guinness World Records' record of 304; the challenge was used to kick-off the tenth annual Warwick Jailbreak, which sees students given 36 hours to travel as far as possible without buying tickets or fares, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people in one pair of underpants is 169, achieved by Dr Pepper (UK), at Thorpe Park, Chertsey, Surrey, UK on 24 March 2012. The pants dimensions - 10m width and 3m 51cm height.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing only underwear; it was achieved by 2,270 participants (all USA) at the Utah Undie Run in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, on 24 September 2011.

    Participants travel in groups of between two and four and blag lifts from strangers, or free tickets on public transport, as they attempt to escape the campus, the West Midlands and, ultimately, the country, the Coventry Telegraph reported

   Organisers hope to smash their previous totals and raise more than £30,000 for this year's chosen charity, Worldwide Cancer Research.
