Most people floating on noodles: Lake Lotawana sets world record (Video)

Lake Lotawana, MO, USA -- 1,555 people turned a triangular area of Lake Lotawana in Jackson County into a gigantic bowl of human noodle soup - setting the new world record for Most people floating on noodles in one place.

  The previous world record was set by 940 people.

The Guinness world record for the for the longest ramp jump on inline skates into water is 6.80 m (22.3 ft), set by Gaetan D'Herve (France).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Most people treading water - single location: 308 people tread water simultaneously in a hole in the ice at lake Kuusijärvi, Vantaa, Finland .



  The world record attempt was put into motion by 14-year-old Nikki Weber and her brother Peter.

   "Two years ago, [Nikki] was racing sailboats against Weatherby's kids and saw their world record sign," Frashier said. "She asked if we could try to beat it."

  All of this noodle nonsense started with a man named Pete Pierce, who owns a house on Weatherby Lake in Platte County.

  Pierce thought it would be cool to try to set a "frivolous" world record with foam noodles, The Kansas City Star reported.

  "He contacted officials at Guinness World Records, who — drat the luck — didn't have such a category.
  "So Pierce created his own organization, the Noodle World Authority. Three years ago, Pierce and his Weatherby friends claimed the world record ."
