  Longest chain of people clasping wrists: world record set in Stretton

  STRETTON, Australia-- Stretton State Collegesuccessfully hosted a World Record event for the longest chain of people clasping wrists to raise awareness and funding for the National Charity 'Hand in Hand' Fighting Brain Cancer; the world record was achieved through 3,300 people holding hands at once, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the longest chain of people clasping wrists consists of 2,950 participants and was achieved by Telenor Pakistan employees and Beaconhouse School System students in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 29 September 2016.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest chain of people licking ice cream; it was achieved by 2,728 participants at an event organised by Morelli's of Portstewart Ltd. (UK) in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, UK, on 23 July 2011.


    Stretton State College successfully hosted a World Record event for the longest chain of people clasping wrists to raise awareness and funding for the National Charity 'Hand in Hand' Fighting Brain Cancer.

    Hand in Hand is a 100% volunteer based not for profit organisation which provides support to families, adults and children affected by brain cancer and brain tumours.

    The Charity raises awareness and funds to help find a cure for Brain Cancer with all proceeds going towards funding a children's book on the brain tumour journey from diagnosis to treatment.

    The world record was achieved through 3,300 people holding hands at once and eclipsed the previous Guinness world record set at 2,950.

    The event was proudly supported by Cr Angela Owen, 96.5 Family FM Radio, Channel 7 news and assisted by the 6 RAR Army.
