  Largest Religious Selfie: Orthodox rabbis set world record despite Guinness missing category (VIDEO)

NEW YORK CITY, NY, USA -- About 1,830 Orthodox rabbis tried to win the selfie game by taking one with all of them together during the 31st annual Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries in Crown Heights; Guinness World Records doesn't yet have a category for such a feat but fortunately, World Record Academy has UNLIMITED categories and recognized their achievement as the World's Largest Religious Selfie.

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest online photo album of self-portrait photographs (selfies) contains 103,690 photos and was achieved by Atasun Optik (Turkey), in Istanbul, Turkey, on 20 September 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest self photographs (selfies) relay chain; it is 283 people, and was achieved by Samsung Electronics America and Habitat for Humanity (both USA) in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 14 October 2014.

   Guinness World Records doesn't yet have a category for such a feat; fortunately, World Record Academy has UNLIMITED categories and recognized the new world record as the World's Largest Selfie.

To fit into one frame, the rabbis — all clad in the typical black and white — had to arrange tiered chairs in front of the Chabad-Lubavitch HQ at 770 Eastern Parkway.

   The Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis have been gathering for a traditional group shot every year since 1983.
