Largest gathering of people wearing underpants-NYC
sets world record
NEW YORK CITY, USA -- About 500 runners,
clad only in their
underwear,
took a "brief" run through New York City's Central Park -setting
the world record for the largest
gathering of people wearing only underpants
.
The previous Guinness world record for
the largest
gathering of people wearing only underpants
was
set last month by 146 men on an English rugby field.
The Naked Cowboy
was grand marshal of the 1.7 mile run.
Finishers received a pair of boxer shorts.

The run was a warm-up for Sunday's Nautica
New York Triathlon
.
The triathlon consists of a 1.5 kilometer swim
in the Hudson River, a 40 kilometer bike along the Henry Hudson
Parkway and a 10k run in Central Park. Finishers will receive
a medal modeled after the first city subway token.
