  Largest Art Lesson: Murrieta school sets world record (HD Video)

MURRIETA, CA, USA--1,103 students at Lisa J. Mails Elementary school and their parents, grandparents and community members participated in a lesson on abstract art from fifth-grade teacher Mary Eskridge - setting the new world record for the Largest Art Lesson in a single venue, according to World Record Academy: http://www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest sculpting lesson was attended by 315 school children of Wallisellen, during an event organised by Mr. Hans Hanseler. The lesson was conducted by Mrs. Piroshka Szonye alongside the Wallisellen School President Hanspeter Kundig.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest music lesson; it involved 1,377 participants, learning how to play the guitar, at an event organized by the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

  Organizers said that 1,103 students and parents participated in a lesson on abstract art from fifth-grade teacher Mary Eskridge, "The Californian" reported.

  The Guinness world record for the largest art lesson involved 879 participants (all UK) at Warren Road Primary School in Orpington, Kent, UK.

   The activity was about more than setting the record, Mails Principal Faythe Mutchnick-Jayx said.
 "This is a celebration of the arts, our school and the difference the arts are making in our life," Mutchnick-Jayx told the crowd.

   Eskridge, who was honored this week as one of the Teachers of the Year in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District, said creating the lesson was a challenge, especially since it involved the entire student body.
