Most paper collected in 24 hours: San Diego County Credit Union breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

   SAN DIEGO, CA, USA -- San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego's largest locally-owned financial institution, is committed to helping the community properly dispose of sensitive data, an effort that landed them their third World Record for the most paper collected in 24 hours; SDCCU's latest free Shred Day Event, held at three locations, resulted in a total of 33,640 pounds of paper collected and shredded, according to the World Record Academy .

The Guinness World Records world record for the largest Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament is 2,950 and was achieved by Oomba, Inc. (USA) at Gen Con 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, on 17 August 2014.

     Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people wearing paper crowns; it was 1,324 people and was achieved by Dr. Sathyanarayanan Venkataswamy (India) at Sathya Diabetic Centre, at Kanchipuram, in Tamilnadu, India, on 22 July 2014.

    The events have also saved the community over $200,000 in costs associated with shredding documents.
