The previous Guinness World Records' record for the largest plastic bottle mosaic consisted of 12,844 plastic bottles and was created by Procter & Gamble and Transmed at Lulu hypermarket – Al Barsha in Dubai, UAE.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest glass bottle mosaic; it was a portrait of Jack Daniel consisting of 2,120 glass bottles and was achieved by Herb Williams (USA) in celebration of Jack Daniel's 161st birthday at South Street Seaport in New York, New York, USA.

The World's Largest Pet Mosaic was created with 66,311 bottles of an expectorant brand from Glenmark; all of which will be donated to 32 Government Hospitals across the country.

This will help in providing relief to thousands of less-privileged patients visiting these government hospitals during the monsoon season when cough, cold and other illnesses are on the rise.

This 'smiley' structure also entered the Guinness World RecordsTM by being the globe's largest mosaic created through the arrangement of pet bottles.

The initiative was spearheaded by Glenmark; a research led global integrated pharmaceutical company in association with JJ Hospital.

The event was attended by leading doctors from across the city, select patients and officials from Glenmark.

A nationwide study conducted by Glenmark across major Government Hospitals in the country revealed that there was a significant increase in cases of cough, cold and other illness in these hospitals during the monsoon season.

The study showed that there is an approximately 25% rise in such cases during the rainy season. This promoted Glenmark to do its bit for the less-privileged sections of society by donating its expectorant brand to leading Government Hospitals, where they come for treatment.
