  Longest marathon on a bouncy castle: Charity bounce breaks Guinness world record

Weston-super-Mare, UK -- Eight friends from North Somerset, UK, have broken the Guinness World Records' record for the 'Longest marathon on a bouncy castle by a team' after completing a 36-hour bouncy castle charity marathon; the team from Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, had to beat the previous Guinness world record of 27 hours set last July in Iowa, USA, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the longest marathon on a bouncy castle by a team is 27 hours and was achieved by the Louisa Development Group (USA), at the Louisa County Fair in Columbus Junction, Iowa, USA.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most bouncy balls scooped in 30 seconds; it was 29 and was achieved by Emiko Hanada (Japan) during the Park Challenge / GWR Live! at Tokyo Midtown, in Minato, Tokyo, Japan.

  Members worked in 20-minute stints and at least one person had to be bouncing at all times.

  Guinness World Records rules stated that at least one member of the team had to be bouncing at any one time.

  They were left dizzy and sore by the challenge but were determined to beat the previous team Guinness wold record of 27 hours, set in July last year.

  The women in the team were 20-year-olds Sian Beckingham and Jasmine Hole, Jayne Gibb, 21, and Kelly Toogood, 23. They were joined by Pete Temlett, Ashley White, Adam Nelson, and Corey Thomas, all 23.

  Dozens of friends and family also attended the event to provide much-needed food and support.
