  Most people dunking cookies: Pittsburgh breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

PITTSBURGH, PA, USA -- Pittsburghers gathered in Market Square around lunchtime for some cookies and milk -- a lot of it, actually -- as they attempted to break a Guinness World Records' record of 1,796 cookies simultaneously dunked in milk; they passed the old mark and set a new record of 2,152 simultaneous dunks, setting the new world record for the Most people dunking cookies, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people dunking cookies at the same time is 1,796, achieved by Oreo India at I.I.T. Mumbai, on 22 December 2013.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the record for the tallest pyramid of cookies is 1.49 m (4 ft 10 in) and was achieved by Jan Vinzenz Krause and members of the diocese Essen using 12180 Leibniz butter cookies at the Centro shopping centre in Oberhausen, Germany.

    Pittsburghers gathered in Market Square around lunchtime for some cookies and milk -- a lot of it, actually -- as they attempted to break a Guinness World Records' record of 1,796 cookies simultaneously dunked in milk, The Pittsburgh's Action 4 News reported.

  They passed the old mark and set a new record of 2,152 simultaneous dunks, according to Giant Eagle spokeswoman Caitlin Monaco.

    Giant Eagle organized the event, passing out free samples of cookies and cups full of milk for anyone who wanted to join in the world record.  

    This is another world record involving food broken in Pittsburgh in the last seven days, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
   The world record for largest pierogie was set at the Rivers Casino last Wednesday, as casino chefs put together a potato and cheese stuffed dumpling weighing 123 pounds.
