  Most people cooking oyster omelets: Taiwan breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Changhua County successfully set a world record for the most people cooking oyster omelets simultaneously after a strong mobilization effort by the county; Guinness World Records insisted that the cooking process had to take at least 30 minutes ; 2,801 people cook oyster omelets simultaneously at Lugang Junior High School, Changhua County, setting the new world record for the most people cooking oyster omelets simultaneously, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest omelette weighed 6.466 tonnes (14,225 lb 6 oz) and was achieved by the Câmara Municipal de Ferreira do Zêzere (Ferreira do Zêzere City Council, Portugal) in Santarém, Portugal.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most expensive omelette commercially available; it is the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata which costs $1,000 (£528.90) and is featured on the menu at Norma's restaurant, Le Parker Meridien Hotel, New York, USA.

  Changhua County successfully set a new world record for the most people cooking oyster omelets simultaneously after a strong mobilization effort by the county.

  2,944 people entered the venue at Lugang Junior High School to cook the dish using ingredients provided by the county government. Some of the participants failed to meet the standard by going home early, leaving the record-setting number of cooks at 2,801.
