  Most Layers in a Sandwich: Sugardale Foods breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

CLEVELAND, OH, USA -- Sugardale Foods set the official World Record for "Most Layers in a Sandwich" with their Sugardale Bacon Fluffernutter Sandwich; the record-setting sandwich was 40 layers, beating the 30 layers necessary to qualify by 10 layers; the monster sandwich was 26 inches tall and weighed in at 4,129 grams, setting the new world record for Most Layears in a Sandwich, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/ .

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people making sandwiches simultaneously is 1,363 and was achieved by TangoTab and Friends (USA), at the Hilton Anatole Dallas in Dallas, Texas, USA, on 22 February 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most sandwiches made in one hour is 20,975 and was achieved by Youth Central & Cenovus Energy Inc. (both Canada) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on 1 October 2014.

Sugardale Foods set the official World Record for "Most Layers in a Sandwich" with their Sugardale Bacon Fluffernutter Sandwich. The record-setting sandwich was 40 layers, beating the 30 layers necessary to qualify by 10 layers, the '19 Action News' reported.

   The monster sandwich was 26 inches tall and weighed in at 4,129 grams. The giant bacon Fluffernutter contained eight pounds of bacon (160 slices), four loaves of bread (42 slices), five pounds of peanut butter and three pounds of marshmallow fluff.

   "I am thrilled to see the involvement of all the Sugardale employees that volunteered their time to make this happen," said Tim Cranor president and chief operating officer of Sugardale Foods . The sandwich team was comprised of one plant engineer and two members of the marketing staff: Alex Pantages, Hilary Rossi and Jordan Miller.

   The record was set as part of Sugardale Foods first ever "Bacon Feast" at the Fabulous Food Show in Cleveland, Ohio November 14-16, 2014. It was the first bacon event of its kind in Cleveland. Bacon enthusiasts enjoyed a Bacon Bar serving six varieties of Sugardale bacon, a bacon museum, a bacon photo booth, and other bacon-related activities.
