Most expensive cheese: Donkey cheese sets world record (VIDEO)
BELGRADE, Serbia -- The donkey farm located inside Zasavica, one of the most well known natural reserves in Serbia, about 80 kilometers west of the Serbian capital Belgrade, produces the donkey cheese (known as pule) that has a price tag of 1,000 euros per kilogram,
setting the new world record for the Most expensive cheese,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest soft cheese was made by Edelweiss Kaesewerk, Kempten, Germany weighing 180 kg (396.8 lb) and was displayed at a public opening of their factory.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cheese pie; it weighed 862 kg (1,900 lbs 6 oz) and was made by the students of Educational Group AKMI in Thessalonica, Greece.
The jennies are each milked by hand three times a day as donkey milking machines don't exist.
'With these animals - aside from the fact that we are saving them from extinction, as their numbers are at their lowest possible in these areas - we are making certain products which will help their survival, their breeding and acceptance by people,' the head of reserve Slobodan Simic told Reuters.
It takes 25 litres of milk to produce just one kilogram of donkey cheese.
'Noone is producing it in Europe or the world, there's no such information and no one would produce it because it would be excessively expensive.
'In a European context it (the price) would amount to three, four or five thousand euros (per kilogram). But we dared to make such a product, offered at an acceptable price of about a thousand euros, and that makes it the most expensive cheese in the world.
There is no cheese as expensive at the moment, nor more valuable, and in such low quantities, as ours,' Mr Simi said.
The farm also produces bottled donkeys' milk - which was said to have been a beauty secret of Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
Mr Simic hopes the farm will soon begin exporting the cheese to the United Kingdom, Germany and the rest of the world.
